AYSO United Player Safety Reminder

AYSO United Club Admins, DOC’s and Staff,

A recent event occurred this week and it’s a reminder to all of our clubs to ensure Player Safety is the utmost priority in United.  As administrators and parents, we need to be aware of our surroundings and that of our players. We need to educate our players about strangers and the dangers they can present. We also need to make sure they know what to do if anyone approaches them.

Education protects our adults and our players. Know the types of predators and the red flags. Be vigilant. Whether you are a coach, administrator, parent, or player, please be alert. If you suspect someone is at risk, inform the appropriate person.

Please be diligent at all practices, games and any other various soccer events.

Teams should use a buddy system of three (3).
Talk to your players, coaches and parents to remind them they need to take care of each other.
Make sure that every adult who works with our players has completed proper Safe Haven training.
Don’t send players to restrooms alone.
Players should not be walking off on their own nor should parents just drop off.
Please ask parents to park and walk their child to and from practice, game or any other event.
Bottom line we want our children to be safe!

Thanks for your attention in this matter. Please share this with your coaches, team managers and parents.
